Hi All,
I've been on the fence (so to speak) for a while on a table saw. In Oz I do have Festool options (Precisio CS70, CS50 and CMS TS75 and TS55), but as I'm still organising space I've continued to ponder and collect smaller tools.
I recently noticed SawStop was available locally, so I thought I'd enquire about the price. It turns out that s modestly configured SawStop would cost around $6K ... the "full house" Precisio CS70 comes in a tad over $4K. I know they're very different offerings and the SatwStop offers the magical "sausage saver", but I'm surprised at the expense locally of the SawStop.
(I'm talking basic 36" SawStop cabinet saw with the heavy duty mobile base - 240V 3HP, no other extras)
I'd love to hear what US or other SawStop owners have paid for their machines ... when I compare SawStop to other locally available cabinet saws it's about three times the price. The only reason I was initially cruising through cabinet saws was because they are half the price of the Precisio [eek] I can get a Hammer / Felder combo machine for the price of a SawStop saw!
