This "island" started out to be a simple 4-legg table using the flip side of a beaten up MFT top, The scope kept getting more complex. I do like the outcome.

This is my 2nd attempt to post photos so I may need some help.

I like it...it looks to be very robust.

What is that above the "Starrett Drawer"? Just kind of a roll out shelf?

Your Scope Creep expanded into an impressive design!  I like how you turned the systainer drawers sideways.  What length runners did you use?  Is that what looks like a standard replacement MFT top?

Thanks, Mike A.

There is a pull out shelf above the Starrett drawer. I use it to stage clamps during a glue up. It also keeps debris out of the Starrett drawer.

I like the side opening Sustainers. Each of the Sustainer drawers holds a different Festool drill. The drawer slides are 18" full extension medium duty units I buy from Rockler.

The top is a standard MFT top.

Can't tell for sure, but it looks like a model 21 with Trijicon sights and a Crimson Trace mount.  +1 on a very useful tool for the shop!  In today's age, I subscribe to never being more than a few steps away my tools.

I like the sideways systainer shelves.

What kind of gap do you have under the top?  As in, how are you getting clamps down into it? That and clearing out whatever's fallen through.

I left 2.5" under the top to provide enough clearance for the Festool clamps to angle in. No problem with the clamps.

I built the island higher than the MFTs. It's at an easy height for me to work I am going to add a rail of LED floods over the island for better lighting for my old eyes.

On the left side, there is a pull out shelf that catches debris. On the right, I have to vacuum the Sustainer top occasionally. I have a double MFT that carrots most of the dirty work. The island is used mostly for assembly work.
