Does anybody know where I can buy the festool compasses thingy that used to come with the Trion jigsaw? I've lost mine and now it's not to hand I can't believe how much I miss it.

There are a bunch of dealers online here if you don't already have one to call your own.

Hi,

What is that thingy ?  I didn't get one with my Trion either. I bought it when it first came out.

Hi,

Umm, I don't know. I am interested in whatever it is that Oryx is saying used to come with the Trion.  I don't know if the circle cutter ever came with it in the US.

Seth

Well, I didn't have a compass come with mine. Must be a much older accessory. See if you can find it in the catalog Oryx.

Hi,

Did anyone ever track this down?  The compass set.

Seth

Ok, I just looked at this thread for the first time, and I have fewer brain cells now than when I started.

Mirko :-\

Hi,

It is perfectly obvious!  Oryx is looking for a Festool compass (drafting type)  that used to come with the jig saw.    ;)

That's right I am, does anyone k now where I can buy some? Seth It seems you might have one could you please take a photo of it and post it here, thanks in advance. Simon

Hi,

Oryx,(Simon) sorry I don't have one. But when you started the tread I was very curious about it. So if you get one be sure to post some pics.  I did a google search but didn't find anything. I t could have been a limited release marketing product when the saw first came out. Along the lines of the Rotex Watch.

For one UK supplier of something very similar, see the Dakota Accuscribe Scribing Tool sold by Rutlands, currently on reduced price offer at 14.95 GBP:

(Yes, I realise that this thread is 16 months old, but Oryx still wants one!)

Forrest

I've got one of those and it isn't as good. I would still like the other one!

Understood. So you're looking for something like this...

...which colinharte found in the Hafele on-line catalogue, but which isn't available from http://www.hafele.com/uk/ ?

Was the compass that came with your Trion jigsaw marked "Festool" in any way, or was it in Festool green?

Forrest

It was grey with Festool written on it in green. I don't know why they don't sell them in the uk?

It seems that Festool most of the time have felt the need to ad something extra for the Trion. Probably because that even though it is a nice jigsaw it's not a stellar and unbeatable winner like the Kapex.

Last 'activity-period' (quarter) it was an Japanese pullsaw and in the present brochure covering the period from may to september they write about an "Herbert Foldingknife' produced in Solingen - The German equivalent to swedish Eskilstuna or english Sheffield.

These 'extras' are never produced by Festool - but do often carry their logo  ::)
