I spend a lot of time drilling into concrete and block walls. If the hole is deep and coming close to the other side of the wall the SDS will blow out the back of the wall like an exit wound from a bullet. It also will shake up the loose bricks/blocks. Unless you have a thousand holes to drill, best to take a few second more and save having to patch things up and use a non SDS drill
