sell me on the Centrotec system

I only have one of the festool drills (CXS) and I love it.  I can't imagine a more balanced light weight drill for install / shop work.  most of my other cordless tools are red (hilt/milwaukee). 
I can buy bit sets for 20-50 all day long and have more than enough for anything I do.
I see the Centrotec systems at $300 but I can figure out why I would spend that kind of money when I can get standard bits/drill bits / etc for way less than half that cost.
I have no issues paying for quality or for something that will improve the ways I do work, but I just can't see the justification for this yet.  Please let me know what I am missing.

You don't have to go all in on the system to realize the benefits.  I would recommend starting out with one of the Snappy centrotec sets, at minimum the countersinks and vix bits, and then maybe the drill bits.

There's some additional performance benefits from the Centrotec system, which is that it fully translates the near zero runout of the Festool chucks.  But the main issue is the convenience of not having to undo and then retighten the Jacobs chuck every time you switch bits.

All that said and shown I think another very crucial point is overall quality of Festool's drill bits, bits, countersinks and so on. It's not your average stuff, it's high quality and will last longer - of course while still being a consumable, generally speaking.

You don't need to go all in - although the sets are cheaper than buying singles, but there are quite a few bits and pieces that one should definitely have:

There's some additional performance benefits from the Centrotec system, which is that it fully translates the near zero runout of the Festool chucks. 

That advantage (minimal runout) is only over other hex shank types, not over round bits in Jacobs chuck.

I see two sides to this, Yes they are expensive, but they are quality bits do last a long time.

I think what sold me on the centrotec system was the installers set. I have 2 of them. They have everything I need to do most of the projects I do. For what isnt in the set I have in a attic systainer. My 2 sets are the NA 2013 and a limited addition set I bought in the UK for timber framing. Figured it would be the bomb for outdoor projects. Now Im almost done getting my shop set up, Ill be breaking that bad boy out
