Senco or Cadex?

Hi all.  I have used many brands of brad nailers in my carpentry work.  Last year I purchased the new Senco 21ga nailer and a Senco 1/4" crown stapler (not the cheap one, the good one).  A couple months past the one year warranty, the seals went bad in the 21ga.  Cost me $85 to have that fixed.  Not quite a year of use for the stapler and it is having the same problem.
I'm considering buying the Cadex nailers now.  Anyone have any experience with Cadex?

I've been looking at Cadex as well.  I had some concerns looking in to Cadex.  I first is that they only have a couple repair centers in the US and only one on the east coast.  My second concern was parts kits,  there doesn't seem to any parts kits available anywhere.  I contacted Cadex through instagram and they said they have parts kits available and the service was really awesome.  I had same day responses.  I have a Grex 23 GA.  I will be looking to purchase the Cadex 21 and 18 ga.
 
I've never had a Senco let me down, and have a drawer full of them. My angled finish nailer has got to be going on 20 yr. old. Sorry to hear about your trouble.

That said  - I am NOT an every day user,but the grip is worn off and still no problems.

Lots of woodworkers in our area have moved over to Grex, and I have to admit I have been eyeing their edge guide system with envy.

Nothing like finishing a nice piece, carefully installing the back, and then finding one or two brads that went astray.

Not familiar with Cadex, but if I needed a gun today I would have to strongly look at the Grex just because of the edge guide. Sure - you can pop a line - but to not HAVE to......
 
Thanks guys.  The Senco guns feel great and are very well balanced/comfortable.  Their tech support guys were great over the phone.  I was very surprised that the seals went out so quickly. 
I have been watching the Cadex guns for a while but it seems like their release is about a year overdue.  Wasn't sure what the problems were.  Glad to hear that their CS responds quickly.
Maybe the guys at Toolnut can chime in.
 
Am I wrong on this, I had heard that Cadex and Grex were off the same production line????? [huh]
 
Had a Grex 1850GB. Kept it oiled and took good care of it. The dryfire lockout quit in a few weeks, multiple misfires, jambs, etc.
I've spoken to several other people about that gun and they said it either worked perfectly, or they had multiple problems like i did.
 
I have a Grex P650L 23 gauge pin gun although I haven't used a lot yet.  From what I've read, many have problems with their other nailers but not much with the 23 gauge.  Yes, they mostly all do look the same maybe made by the same company but with different internal specs??
 
I have some old Senco guns that have stood up well but the new stuff does not seem to be the same quality. My only Cadex gun is a 23 gauge 2" headless pinner that has served me well for 3 years. It has some nice features like a lockout to prevent it from firing when you are out of pins, a air blower and built in hanging hook.

I think Cadex and Grex are very comparable and I would choose the one that has the best local parts and service.
 
Picked up a Cadex 23gauge, what sold me was that It could shoot slightly headed pins and came packaged with a systainer. Had it only a few months but it's working fine.
 
Got the edge guide for the Grex 23 gauge and that's really nice.  I wanted a 18 gauge but had to gamble on the Grex 1850GB because of its edge guide as well.  I hope I don't get a defective one! [scared]

I used the 23ga edge guide a few days ago for the first time. Really useful for the right situation.  [thumbs up]

It's my understanding that until recently Cadex was manufactured in the same plant with Grex and some other brands. The quality seems very good and customer feedback has been quite positive since we starting carrying them in the Systainers.

I believe we will also be able to start offering Systainer inserts for Grex nailers in the near future if that's your deciding factor.

The Cadex is shaped a bit different, it was suggested to be better than the Grex but the edge guide was a deal breaker for me.

That'll be good, but what about the Grex compressor in a Systainer? When is that gonna show up?

[member=7816]Tim Raleigh[/member], I've not heard anything about a Grex Systainer Compressor. If they made one, we would definitely be a strong advocate of it. There are some other possible Systainer-based compressors that are in the works and we are working with the manufacturers to offer those.

I do think it's a missing link in the Systainer line up. Everyone who uses Festool tools uses a compressor.

Stay tuned. I think 2017 will be the year of the Systainer compressor.

[member=60643]wptski[/member], completely agree on the edge guide from Grex. A brilliant accessory for their nailers, possibly inspired by Festool's edge guides. I posted about these when they were first announced and we have a lot of customers who have bought them and had great things to say about them. Glad you mention it because it is a feather in Grex's cap.

I was hoping that even the Grex edge guide might work on the Cadex but that's the area where the two differ, shape and groove depth is different so it was a no go.
 
Im a hobbyist but have been using grex 1850gb, 650lx, and 1664 for the past year. I have had zero problems. aside from the 18 gauge being a little slow when I was working in the garage at 30 degrees
