Senco or Cadex?

The Grex 1850GB came with no edge guide in the box!  Geez, it was already installed, I didn't expect that at all.  [big grin]
 
It twas VIM that made the little 23 gauge pinner that could.

To answer the OP's question, I'd take the older Cadex 21 over the Senco version. 
Not familiar with the new models, but I'm interested.

For staplers, BEA and Fasco are the names I think of.  That's upholstery though. 😁
 
Is a micro pin just another name for a slight head?  Really can't be much of a head at that diameter anyway!

Sorry my mistake, I meant the Cadex "compressor in a Systainer" or rather Cadex's branded version.

Eyes only, I'd take the new Cadex over the 21 gauge Omer (very similar to my 18 gauge).
But these are for personal reasons.  Fancier magazine and a metal trigger over chintzy plastic.
However, neither of those are double trigger like the Senco and older Cadex.  May be a big deal for you, may not.

I know they are sourcing the compressor component from Italy. I don't know who the manufacturer is.

I know that Schneider (previously part of TTS, Festool's parent company) has been sold and that their Systainer compressors are also likely to make a U.S. appearance in the near future from one or more distributors. I will, of course, post on here once I have details.

[member=63201]RustE[/member], I'm not aware of any price changes on the Cadex nailers. Some of Grex's prices increased on 1/1, as I recall.

Maybe I'm thinking of the Cadex CB18.50A price?  The V2/18.50 in the Systainer seems more reasonable.

While I like my Senco FinishPro 23SXP (23g headless pin), I haven't warmed up to the FinishPro 25XP (18g brad).  And the Max NF255F (18g brad) was a huge disappointment too.
 
I'd guess it was just a fluke, could happen with any gun but yesterday I went from 1 1/2" to 3/4" pins in my Grex P650L.  I was using a Kreg mobile project center and it appears one 1 1/2" pin stayed in the gun, went through my project and through the table.  Yes, it was a full strip, no short pieces that could leave one behind.  If anything more of a pin problem and these were Grex pins.
 
I started out with a Cadex 23 gauge nailer 4 years back that hasn't failed me. Along the way I went from one brand of 18 gauge to another. I started with Senco many years ago then made a quick and long transition to Porter Cable. They were faithful and long lived until Black and Decker bought PC and moved their nail gun manufacture off shore. They became crap. From the I moved to an Oner out of Italy and it was a great gun until one day about 14 months in, it wasn't and you can't get parts for the things here. From there to Bostitch. I actually went through two of these for no other reason than I simply didn't know which way to go. The jammed frequently and fixing that was an allen key effort.  Finally I bought a Makita and returned that within days, Makita makes great everything else, not so much nail guns.

So upon returning that, the sales guy suggested a Cadex, who I didn't know made 18 gauge guns. It is flat out the best gun I ever used. Nice tiny entry hole, good seating, accurate depth adjustment and best of all, 16 months later I've never had a jam, not one.

I'm actually looking for a 18ga(and maybe a 23) and was trying to determine which brand to go with.
I've had mostly Bostitch, which have mostly been ok - if just a little bit fiddly(other than a palm nailer that failed after one deck build).

The Grex Edge guide looks pretty handy - might save me from poking nails through the side of boxes.  Does anyone know if the edge guide comes with the 1850GB?  It doesn't list the edge guide in the product description.

I'm also considering the Cadex.  I have a local supplier that carries the line and they come in systainers, which is way handier than the bulbous Bostitch hard cases.  It also sounds like the Cadex might have fewer issues than the Grex.
 
After reading this thread again(and some other discussions) I ordered an Omer 12.50. :D

The Cadex with Systainer is tempting, but for $20 more the Omer sounds like a better bet.
 
I currently have a Cadex 21 ga nailer and it has been great for the year and a half I have had it. It is the only 21 ga I have ever used.
I have always had Senco nailers/staplers with good results, but the 23ga that I had was the one that came with the little portable compressor. It had a max pin size of 1". That was when I got the Grex 1 3/8" model. It was far more versatile and never gave me any problem at all either.
