Seneca or precision dogs parallel guides

Looking to get parallel guides. The precision dogs look the same as Seneca but $40 cheaper. Is there a difference and which one should I get?

I have been using the precision dogs version and they have been great for me. Nothing bad to say about Senaca, I have their products for my Domino 700.

I went with Precision Dogs for two reasons. First their clamp mount dog is removable which gives me two more dogs should I desire them for a total of six (I have two clamps obviously). Second I wanted the collars for the rail dogs. They are handy to have either to hold the rail up, or to attach the rail dogs to the table and place the rail up against them when cutting. Mind you I do not have an MFT but a CNC'ed holey table with a 52" rip capacity, so rail dogs are required when cutting.

Never used the Seneca so I can't comment.

I really like using the Seneca guides, but can't compare to others. Really easy to use and very accurate.

I have the Seneca guides and love them. Same as the other guys though in reverse, no experience of Precision Dogs so nothing good or bad to say about them really.

I can't comment on the Seneca system either, but I like my Precision setup. Customer service is top notch as well. The owner responded to a few emails I sent and sent me a set of screws that were missing from my kit. One thing I can say is that you should check the calibration before each use for either system. I was 1/16th off the other day after my rail and attached guide sat idle for a month or so.

When I was making a similar decision, apart from having an great customer experience from buying Precision Dogs, one other thing that swayed me was that the Precision version is attached using thumbscrews, which makes them easy to attach and remove. In the instances the saw needs to be plunged deeper these can get in the way, so they come supplied with some screws as well. The Seneca version doesn't come with thumbscrews as far as I know.

Thanks guys. I'm leaning towards the precision guide simply because it's $40 cheaper and I'm a tight fisted Scotsman!! I have Festools guides but I'm not crazy about them.

Bumping up an old thread as I’m currently weighing these two parallel guide options. I see myself using theses predominantly for ripping thinner (~2.5”) strips. At least initially anyway. So I’ll be using the narrow stops often.

The Seneca narrow stops interlock with the rail stops without any mechanical fasteners (but appear to slot into the underside of the rail). The precisiondogs narrow stops don’t slot into the rail but they do attach to the rail stops with mechanical fasteners.

Does anybody see an advantage of one over the other? I don’t see myself using these so often as to wear the Seneca parts.

The current price difference is $60 (with 24” rails). But neither are massively expensive (relative to the tools they’re made to be used with anyway).
