A Festool Toolie sold for over $100 with shipping on eBay today.  This goes way beyond supply and demand.  Over $100 for a nice set of Allen / hex keys that are branded Festool.  I'm in the wrong business !!!!

I feel like 90% of the shoppers today have to be either clueless or outside of NA (where often its ridiculous expensive).

All this confirms is that either there's two idiots on the planet, or one idiot and one dishonest and manipulative Ebay seller.

Sorry to jump on this, but Ebay's reach has the potential to find nut jobs that know how to type ... that's about the limit of it.

The majority of people that shop online are savvy and astute - but not all ... the dumb ones fall prey to scams and phishing (and great stories on Ebay).

No - I actually think Festool has created a cult of fanatical followers.

Brand loyal people drink Coke - they're loyal to the brand ... but you don't see them spending a hundred dollars on an interesting Coke bottle!

Festool products on eBay often have higher price tags than what they are in the stores, for some reason.

Not true of *everything* you find on eBay...

You really can get some good deals from eBay if you are careful... but not often on Festool products... though I did get my RO 150 that way, and for what seemed a fair price.  Still going strong, too... you do need to be careful, and research the product and other purchase options before taking a bite.

Occasionally, eBay is the only place I can find something I'm interested in buying... and maybe the occasional yard sale...

Yep - the cult, not the "brand loyal".

There's crazies everywhere.

I worked many years with TCCC ... you wouldn't believe how many TCCC owned vending machines have vanished.

Original chest dispenser Coke fridges go for princely sums ... old bottles - they go for stupid money - but you will see those same bottles in serious public auctions too.

But you don't see people buying easily accessible Coke memorabilia for 10 times the going rate ... not often anyway.

I'm just pointing out the difference between brand loyalty, the legitimate value of rarity and just plain bonkers.

Ebay is nuts. I was watching this used ETS 150 a couple weeks ago and the damn thing sold for 40 dollars over new. WTF!

I've got a beat up plumb hammer that's been used for demo-ing plaster. I can write A3 on the side of it and trade it for a toolie.

Hi Steve!  Great to meet you too and too bad you didn't bring the hammer to JLC.  There's always next year.  I'm guessing this is one of those hammers that does everything?  It needs to be plenty sharp for planing wood and have a torx end on the handle.
