Set-up question: CMS Router Table MFT-Attached Model VL

Hello, all,

I purchased the router table that attaches to my MFT.

During set-up, I noticed that when I crank the router up my plug-it socket for the 1400 router hits the black box that holds the red/green power switches.

Clearly, I haven't set something up properly?

One thought I had is perhaps my bit is too deep in the collet?

Any ideas appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't think that's correct. If flipped 180, the mechanism that moves the router up and down wouldn't work.

You have it in right. It is tight there but I don't recall it being to tight to get on. I usually unplug it where the switch outlet and plug it go together.

I will check in the morning.

Tony, I generally don't comment unless I have something to add. What others have said is right. It appears to be installed properly and it's a snug fit. I don't have a VL handy to check out at the moment. But if you feel like you need further assistance on it, give us a call and ask to speak to Brent. He's our in-house CMS expert.

Interesting. When the 1400 router is "cranked" up to the closest point of the router table, it jams the router's plug socket into the black box. Seems like that's putting an awful lot of stress on the "plug-it" plug and handle of the router. I'm surprised that the plug and the box conflict and can be so easily jammed together?

That's why I'm wondering if I installed something incorrectly? Festool puts so much effort into thoughtful design, and the "plug-it" getting smashed into the black box, doesn't appear to be a smart design.

I also have problems with both the OF 1010 and 1400. They both conflict with the power distribution block.
I found a simple solution and moved the block about 4 inches to the right on the underside of the rail and now it works fine.

Hello, all,

After reading Neeleman's post, I took another look at the switch box and inside the black box there's a set screw that when loosened, allows the box to slide down the rail. So, I was able to move the buttons far away from the OF1400's power cord and handle.
