Any advise on setup of paypal account? I opened a separate checking account and have a routing number. What is next step? I want to list in classified on forum first. MARK    SAMPLE ATTACHED

Setting up a Paypal account is fairly straight forward.  You might need for them to verify your linked account by supplying other information.  If you want to sell tools in the classified area then post there.  If you accept PayPal say so in your "ad".  If you sell and payment is made via Paypal then you will need to request a check from Paypal and that will take 3 to 5 business days.

If you link your bank account to PayPal, and the person paying you also has their PayPal set up properly, then the money can become available instantly.  You can easily transfer it into your bank account, or use it for ebay or for any number of retailers.
Don't forget to account for the ~3% they charge, and don't mail anything off until the payee's payment has cleared and shows as available to you.

If you can get the buyer to send the money as a gift you can avoid the transaction fees.

I don't know if PayPal still does this or not ...... when I set mine up years ago , PayPal mailed (not emailed) a confirmation letter to be used  as verification when starting up the account. That way they were confirming an actual address.

In any case I am sure the PayPal website makes it pretty straight forward to set up. The separate bank account is a good idea.

I typically list my tools on eBay , then post a link to it here in classifieds.

Reaches a broader audience and you get the eBay sellers protection.
