I've been trying to hunt down a source for some specialized drywall edge treatment: usually referred to as Reglet or Shadow Bead.  It's essentially a Z shaped profile that allows for a reveal between the wall and some other architectural feature.

In my case, I want to use it around some 12" deep jamb extensions as well as a recessed cabinet, so there will be a small reveal between the extension and drywall.

Problem is, I can't find any dealers around me that are stocking it.  If they do, I suspect they don't sell it to folks like me.

Am I better off just asking my plasterer to handle this?

Thanks,
Adam

Quite a few Tim-Tex dealers in your area.  They may have to order it in for you.

Thanks, guys.

After talking it through with my plasterer, I think it's going to be simpler to go in a different direction to keep things simple.

As of now, the game plan is to just do drywall up to the jamb extension, and have the extension project 3/8" past the wall.  I think this will be less involved.

In terms of sequence, my plan is to frame the wall and attach the jamb extensions, and probably also put the cabinet in.  I think that it makes sense to leave a small gap between the drywall and the woodwork and caulk that, in case of expansion.

Is that reasonable?  Is there a better way to do that?  My house is mostly brick walls, so recessed cabinets aren't something I've had a chance to do before.  [big grin]
