shelf edging using domino

Im about to fix some 20mm x 44mm beech to some MDF 18mm shelving. Ive got 2 different lengths of shelf one 726mm and the other 1183mm.

Whats the best (standard) spacing for 5mm dominos for this type of job ?

Maybe 8inch apart, if there are a lot of shelves you could take a 10mmx18mm rebate out of top of edging and glue and pin shelf in.

Yeah I was thinking around 8” apart
