I created a this very simple jig for making shelf pin holes in my project. You just clamp on a wooden yard stick with the end lined up with the bottom of the work piece. You naturally put the yardstick where you want your holes. To keep the holes equidistant apart, just position the leading edge of the router on the inch marker to begin. Bore your hole. Now just move the leading edge of the router to the next inch marker (or whatever spacing you desire). Continue on like this till you're done. Now you can transfer the yardstick to the other side of your workpiece and repeat the process. This method works perfectly and costs nothing.

Welcome.
Great first post.
I love KISS ideas for challenging problems and when they come from cheep and readily available things all the better.

The fact that you need to be careful when you use it so you don't screw up your project needs to be stated.

You can always buy some insurance (Lr32) for $500 (rail and tax),  but as in Brice's review it doesn't mean you wont make a mistake if you are not paying attention.  By the way Brice, Thanks for leaving that in it speaks to your integrity as a reviewer.

Any way welcome to the forum
