SHELIX Cutterhead Installed On DJ-20 Jointer

Absolutely. The shelix cutters can be rotated four times before they need to be resharpened.

The Shelix inserts are replaced when the 4 edges are worn out as resharpening is not feasible due to the geometry.  Of course, wearing out the four edges would take one heck of a lot of use!

Good to know. Forgot they have a slight concavity about them (not straight on four sides) so resharpening could be tough. I want to say I saw a YouTube video on it awhile back, but then again, if we all trusted YouTube for everything... well, most of us would probably be dead or at least severely maimed.

Yes the inserts are convex with a broad radius...the sharpening problem isn't just the radius, since there is no means to change the location of the insert relative to the center of the cutterhead the cutting circle would shrink and chip clearance would be altered.
