Right I've made a stavd drum body before, but this time around i cut the staves on a bandsaw with a curve to them, to save on wood. The challenge was the cutting of 18 degree angle to either side, which I managed. I hasten to add I'm on a steep learning curve. I glued them together and then was going to turn it, but it was close enough for my liking so sanded it down.
OMG it's the first time I've used a festool sander, and I love it. No dust or very little anyway. A purchase I got last week ETS150/3. I'm going to turn into a festool junkie!
What I was wondering is once I'm ready to finish the body, should I use the festool oil or maybe varnish the wood? It is Iroko. I've never used it before, so any info/advice would be greatly received.
