Does not come with a sustainer or plug it cord? Why are these features on every other tool then? Why is this lacking those features? Has anyone bought a sustainer that this will fit in? Sys5 maybe?

I have the Shinex. I keep it in a Maxi-Systainer along with Festool foam pads and other pads.  Not sure why the Plug-It Gods did not favor the Shinex for that type of cord.
My Maxi-sys however, is an older one that's not as tall as the current one, so there's little wasted space.  Somewhere on talkFestool there's a review of my Shinex and a pic showing the two different maxi-sys's side by side I think.
If not, now that I own current Maxi-Systainers which house the Planex and its gear, I can always take a new pic to show you.
I have Sys 5s that I could pop the Shinex into for a fit check, but I really like having the tool mounted horizontal in the Systainer with accessories like other Festool products.
I used the foam insert in my Maxi-Sys to keep things from bouncing around.

Maxisystainer...makes good sense I didn't even think of that one. Thank you leakyroof. Would buy the shinex right now if festool would have kept both of the features with the shinex. Now I'm conflicted.

Some of their other great tools don't have Plug-It cords either.  Don't let that stop you.  Sure, the German demp videos show it being removed from a fitted Maxi-Sys that apparently Europe can get for it, and we get the cardboard box... [embarassed]
Here's a shot before I added the foam liner insert on my Shinex.

I'm pretty sure the Shinex will fit in a Midi Systainer as well. I have the FLEX version (FLEX PE14-2-150 ) and it does.

Yeah, I had forgotten about the Midi[it wasn't around when I bought my Shinex  [smile]]
The Shinex IS small, not much larger than an RO90

Does the shines come with head for hook and loop? I use a lot if scotch brite round pads. Would it work with those? And what separates it from other polishers? Also I seen that the shines was made by flex? True story? I love flex

It comes with the 6"/150mm hook and loop/Velcro/FastFix pad.
Don't know if the Shinex is a rebadged Flex Polisher. I've never heard that. Hmm   [huh]
YES, you can use Scotch Brite type pads if they have a velcro backing. I use the Surfix Green and white Vlies pads all the time for burnishing an oil finish with my Shinex.
The Shinex is very light, very strong, very quiet, easy to work around a vehicle or other surface. Doesn't sound like a box of rocks like other right angle polishers and is lighter than the Rotex 150, so if you have a lot of polishing or waxing or finishing work, it's less stress on your body when used for hours at a time.  And your ears...
Try one out, compare it to whatever Flex models you also like. You have 30 days to decide and return it if needed.
I'm still trying to get Festool to bring in the larger model Pollux...... [scratch chin]

I don't think there's ever been official comment on this but they're awfully similar.

Power is the same at 10 Amps. Festool lists 1200 watts (input power) and Flex lists 880 watts (which is output power).

Weight is nearly identical Festool 4.6lbs vs. Flex 5.6lbs. If you dig into the spec on Festool's weight, they exclude the backing pad and power cord.

The arbor on the Flex is 5/8" vs. M14 on Festool. This may or may not limit you with regards to backing pads.

RPM is slightly different, Festool 400-2100 rpm vs. Flex at 600-2100 rpm.
