i currently use a fein grinder on a dual flex 16" random action sanding head designed for solid surface sanding it does not have
its own drive motor and the fein works OK however i think the shinex might be better suited for this application . can i order this
thru a dealer with your approval. it would only be used in an industrial environment on solid surface countertops.

Are you saying you want to use the Shinex for sanding solid surface? Are we talking about sanding down seams etc?

The Shinex is a polisher and has no dust extraction. I doubt it would do well for sanding. Have you tried a Rotex sander with Titan abrasives?

We have no ETA for the Shinex yet. My best guess at this point is that it will come to the US within the next 6 months. The
Shinex has UL approval already. We will post something here as soon as we have an ETA.

Christian, thank you for posting the information about the Shinex. It's always great to hear the news that a particular tool will be coming to NA and good to have at least, an approximate time of arrival.

I have seen many solid-surface fabricators using the Rotex. The combination of aggressive material removal and dust collection makes it perfect for solid-surface fabrication.

The Shinex is a great polisher and is especially highly regarded in the automotive community. It is lightweight, has very good ergonomics, and goes down to 400 rpm.

I'm sorry i think you misunderstand the tool that in spoke of is a 16"pad that has its own counterbalance dual action  head its designed to attach to a
buffer or polisher by way of a m 14 thread like a polishing pad that's capable of random or dual action motion.why do i think the shinex would be better
then the fein is that the shinex is variable speed. as for the rotex yes i have Many of them and they are indispensable in my business but they only cover
6" of material at a time when this can cover 16" of material a pass using 120grit too 600 grit its for final sanding large tops.

Ah, ok. I remember the product now. I don't know if the Shinex will work with it, but it might be worth a try. I'll let you know as soon as we know when the Shinex is going to be available.

Christian, do you know if any other changes besides the required electrical compatibility ones will be made to the Shinex or will it come as it is in Europe but adapted for 110V. Specifically, will the spindle thread be the same M14 as on the European version or will it have the more common 5/8" x 11 found on polishers in the U.S. Thank you for the information.

No other changes besides the required electrical compatibility. The North American version of the Shinex will come with the same spindle thread as the European version.
