Shop-Made Boom Arms

Very nice creative work.

Could you please show us the details of the bottom end of the vertical PVC pipe,
that part which is hidden by the power cord loops ? Is the pipe attached to the vac ? how ?

Dude, that is very impressive work.  I too thought that the boom arm was too expensive, but after getting it, like some other festools I have found it to earn its keep.  Yours looks great, but I would highly recommend to put a cyclone on it.  I just recently put a Dust Deputy ($120.00 or so)on a five gallon bucket with a three way splitter cord and I don't miss emptying bags at all.  It's nice having everything all contained.

Per, as discussed in another thread,  I have found that having a three way splitter-  each of the Festool plugs and a small extension cord is a good set up, but if I did it again I would more if I had them, Eric

On my boom, the bottom leg of the boom simply fits into the black support that is supplied with the festool handle for the CT.  There is a sort of half-circle groove that the pipe fits into.  Although with 1" pvc pipe, you have to increase the inner diameter by sanding or gouging it out so that the side wall is thinner and can fit into the groove.  This locks it into position pretty well.  other than that the pipe clamp on the handle is the only other thing that the boom arm attaches to
