No problem if I do, but what parts would I need? BTW, I am aware of the 'plug-it pigtail' but I don't think that will be long enough for my needs.

As you probably know, home centers and hardware stores usually sell plugs designed to fit on the end of a cut cord. I don't see a Festool green one, but something like one of these: Electrical Plugs & Connectors
