Short entertaining film on YouTube

This might not teach a great deal to you more experienced folks... but I found it it an interesting mix of techniques on one job (inc. the filling of a knot hole by a method I hadn't seen before).
(And a pleasant few minutes of viewing without need or hinderance of a commentary.)

Any thoughts or comments?

I wonder why go into such length to make the stretcher easily (tool less) removable.

Really nice artistry. I do think the clasp attached rail is kind of odd, and don't like the detail of the bottom being through-doweled in without provisions for wood movement, but otherwise the craftsmanship looks pretty sharp too.

I think I learned three or four new things. Was that a stick of plastic or hot glue for the bumpers?

Am I the only one seeing red flags on this vid?  First a track saw without using a track.  Surely, Festool will not indemnify that method.  Also the cross grain glueup on the bottom?  The butterfly keys should be enough to keep it from splitting further without causing it to split in other places.  [eek] [scared] [eek]

I learned a few things...really like the lead "epoxy", that's an interesting touch.

The larger take-away for me is all the jigs & fixtures he made/used for the build.

thts what im thinking too. why have it removable. the mounting mechanism would be fairly ugly with that piece removed.
