Should I keep my CXS?

Hey guys stupid question here. I bought the Festool cxs and am having second opinions about my purchase. It came in yesterday and I do not need it. It was a rather expensive purchase but I have the T15 set and TI15 so I really don't need the gun. Outside of it being compact I really cannot justify the purchase and am thinking about returning it and getting my Carvex bases which I should've bought in the first darn place, anybody have any suggestions?

I think it would be smart to flesh out your Carvex with the bases as it alone is really only half the tool.  I too have the carvex without any of the extras accessories and getting them is high on my list. They're also cheaper than the CXS..

I have the C15 and a CXS, and while the C15 is a great drill, I usually grab the CXS because it is so small and light. I recommend keeping it.

I find the CXS to be an incredibly nimble little drill / driver. I'm hoping Festool will bring out a little digital version of the CXS in combination with a small digital impact driver.

Yours is one of those questions that's hard to answer without "being you" as I'd personally want to have the CARVEX accessories and keep the CXS too (I also have C15, Ti15 and PDC18-4).

I suppose if it''s a case of "can't do" vs "cumbersome to do", I'd go CARVEX accessories over CXS [wink]

Do you really NEED all the carvex bases/ accessories. I use a  carvex for a living and apart from the felt base and the circle guide can't find the need for any of the other bases. The cxs on the other hand is something I would never be without.

Thanks guys but I decided to send it back. I figured having the base kit is the way to go. Thanks for your help!

Chris, only you can decide what tools you need but, I find that the CXS is invaluable for working up on ladders or inside cabinets when installing slides, etc.

I'm sure you made the correct decision for your situation.
