Should I send this sander in for repair?....

It's a two-year old RS400 rectangular small sander.  I haven't used it a whole lot, but it seems to jump around and "catch" sometimes-even on smooth wood.  I guess the best way to explain it is like holding two magnets to each other and the way they repel each other.  I've tried adjusting the speeds and the vac is adjusted almost all the way down.  I'm using only minimal downward pressure on the sander.  Thanks for any input.

Yes, that does happen sometimes and is usually corrected by the lowering of the suction and increasing the sander's speed. Also continued usage has helped. You have tried that and hasn't worked. I'd give Festool's Repair Department a call.

I agree with Bob I recently used mine extensively.  At times sanding between coats I would not use the vac when running the sander on low speed.

For paint removal/stripping the vac never moved away from the Turtle.

Issues experienced, On/Off rock switch quickly became difficult to move after some sanding due to internal dust.
Opened cover, blew out and applied a little grease.

Also the rotary speed control would often vibrate itself to a lower speed.

I really like this sander though!
