Totally OT but I just had to post this for anyone looking for super high quality gardening saws. Silky is the Festool of gardening tools IMHO. I am rehabbing my parents yard that hasn't had a good pruning, cutting, shredding for at least 20 years. I'm in Hawaii doing this work and needed a good pruning saw and a good pole saw. I found them at this sitehttp://www.silkystore.com/  I got the Hayauchi 21 foot pole pruner and it glides through mango, longan, african tulip with hardly any effort. The other saw for ground work and up in the tree work is a Sugoi 420 arborist saw. Again, this will glide through wood like a chainsaw w/o the weight or fumes. These tools come at a price but well worth every penny. While walking the aisles of Home Depot I thought there's got to be better tools than this... and Silky has delivered. BTW I am not a Silky dealer or rep.

Hi Mark,

I bought several similar pole saws from The Japanese Woodworker years back, although they don't have as elaborate a selection as your link they have worked well for me.  Like you I have been delighted at what I have been able to accomplish... with both feet firmly on the ground.  ;)

Thanks for the link.

Another happy Silky user here!
The pruning saw is outstanding.  I also have their extrafine tooth Woodboy saw for hand cut dovetails.
