I did look at a Duramax one ton with a single rear axle and a nine foot utility bed and system one rack with only 40000 on it, but hated the box size and layout. Maybe if I was a framer. It was owned by a local guy who seems to get a new couple of trucks every year or two. Keeps them mint and trades them in. They sell fast.
How do you keep a work truck mint and still perform work? I'm all for maintenance and taking care of the stuff I own, but sometimes work stuff just gets worked.
Mines not mint. Good shape for sure when I bought it. Interior takes the beating, mostly dust, dirt, compound from me. Dogs are no help. Body was perfect until a delivery guy punched in my rear quarter, and left without saying anything of course. Luckily my shop neighbors are body guys, so I got the 25 dollar fix and its pretty hard to see it.
The duramax I mentioned is a local business owners truck. You can tell because most of his old ones are lifted with flame graphics. I think he's got money to burn.
I also dont wash mine unless it's a wedding or a funeral. Dredge out the cab once a week in warm weather, maybe once a month in winter.
Little dings here and there happen. It's not a show truck. I'm careful loading though, and working alone helps.
