I came across this product in an article I was reading ... only briefly mentioned, no opinions - good or bad.

Does anyone have experience with this and is it useful beyond cast iron table top restoration? ... For example, general table lubrication to reduce friction when sliding timber, or other uses.

Have used it since the early 1990's thicknessing thousands of linear metres of timber. Wouldn't be without it in the workshop. Invaluable on the thicknessing table but useful on all surfaces where you want to reduce friction. Only need to use sparingly for any application. How long each application lasts depends on amount of use. Felder Australia sell the solid and liquid (spray) versions. Both great.

Is there a US equivalent, or is it available here? Haven't tried to google it yet...

See page 276 of LeeValley 'Fine WoodWorking Tools Catalogue' (Canadian Edition) for GlideCote, which appears to be similar.
Catalogue available on line; download LeeValley App from AppleStore/ITunes.   [smile]

I use Supergleit on my thicknesser tables.  The stuff works great. I bought mine from Felder & would be surprised if Felder US can't supply it.

Good stuff, also helps to prevent corrosion to on your cast iron tables.  Not really for removing rust, surface needs to be clean before applying.

I use this too on my planer/thicknesser and when using resinous woods also on my router table when necessary. It's a great help and I couldn't imagen working without anymore. I also buy this stuff at my Felder dealer. They also sell harzlöser which gets rid of the wood resin. Also a wonderful product though its quit aggressive stuff I suppose as it bites my hands sometimes when I, for intense, clean the resin of ball bearings of some of my router bits when not using gloves. I also clean the slots of the planer head with it before I replace (or turn around) my planer blades.
