With the current work from home situation I decided I needed a desk and office setup after the first few weeks trying to work from the kitchen table.  I built this from regular douglas fir from home depot so it was dirt cheap.  I bought 4x6x10's because I was able to find relatively clear pieces.  No bandsaw so I had to make due with my table saw.  It was my first time making handcut dovetails.

Great video, showing the process was awesome. Time to make a chair  [big grin]

Thanks for sharing you terrific work.  Isn't it amazing what you can find at the big box stores if you look hard?

Really nice tight grain fir, and a very nice looking glue up.  The dovetails are well done and add a lot to the overall design.

Amazing that you got that quality of wood at Home Depot, and even more so that you were able to get that size.  How did you gauge the moisture content to be confident that it was dry enough for the wide glue-up?  Where I live, that would be my biggest concern with Home Depot wood, unless I let it sit around for a couple of years.  I didn't see any warping while or after ripping it, which is a good sign.

What kind of finish did you use?
