Anyone have a picture of the CT48 setting next to a CT36.
I am needing another vac for site work.
I would like to get a CT48, but I would like to see how much taller it is than a CT36.

Chris, does this photo help?

The Festool International site lists the CT36 as being 596mm tall and the CT48 at 1005mm.

.. which is very deceptive because that 1005mm includes the push bar.

The height difference between the CT26 and CT36 is 56mm and that's probably the same difference as between the CT36 and CT48 so that makes the CT48 about 652mm tall.

56 mm is 2 1/4"  12 liters is equivalent of 6*  2 liter bottles of cola. or 3 gallons.

Well, that certainly makes a lot more sense.  When I read the specs, I wondered why there was so much difference in height.  I should have known better, as Festool also messed up with the specs on the MFTs -- a comparison between the MFT1080 and the MFT/3 was incorrect.  [blink]

Those sizes are correct.  They're shrunk for shipping overseas.  Once they're delivered to your door and you take it out of the box, plug it in and turn it on.  Put your hand over the inlet port and it will expand to normal size.  [huh]

[tongue]

Thanks everyone.
I think I need to stick with a CT36. By the time I stack a Systainer 1 that holds a Turbo brush  & a Systainer 5 that holds 30' of hose & attachments on top of the CT48 it will be almost as tall as I am.

So has the CT48 been released? My local Festool dude keeps telling me not yet.

I'm also wondering about the specific dimensions. Will the CT48 + Sys2 or Sys3 conveniently work out to 900mm (MFT3 height)?

Does the CT33 boom arm fit the new CT48?  The CT is my main dust collector in my little (garage) workshop & I would consider an upgrade if I could use my old boom and DD setup on top of the CT48.  The CT33 would then become the portable unit for doing sanding, etc. outside the shop.

The Boom Arm is the same but the Handle is different and it requires an additional bracket.
Tom

Well, that edges me a little closer to buying another CT.  I never move the CT33 out of the shop because it's too much changing.  I would like to have one that I don't mind moving for occasional tasks so that may be the CT33.  Thanks.
