Looking for an Owners Manual for a Sawyers 710 Slide Projector. I recently acquired this projector to revisit my 35mm slide collection from the 70's and could use the operating / troubleshooting information. Would appreciate any assistance, even a scanned copy would be helpful.

As I recall, the Sawyer unit was a low-rent projector. Image quality was fine. But until you are confident with it, try cycling the unit manually to make sure it does not crush your slides.

The Kodak projectors were the work horses, with a gravity feed which was not likely to damage slides, but old slides that were abused were a problem.

Leitz made an expensive version with superior optics. I never used one, so no comment on that. I’m pretty sure I still have my Kodak, though I have not seen it since about 1971 or 1972.

Whatever you do, do not touch the bulb with your bare hands. The sweat on your finger tips will etch the bulb and cause it to fail in just a few hours.

You are spot on, the Sawyer unit is entry level. I use to have a better quality Sawyer in the 70’s but it died and all my slides are loaded in Sawyer carousel trays, so I picked up this unit. I also bought a Kodak 4200 in excellent condition, so now will have to replace Sawyer carousel trays with Kodak trays. Thanks for your input.
