hi there
I am moving my small work shop into a larger space. not  a lot bigger but enough.
I used to use that space for breaking down sheet goods etc and for finishing. I used it because I could go in give something a coat then go back to the workshop to do more work. now I wont be able to do that.
I am thinking about building a small box with adjustable shelves so that I can finish a part then put it in there to dry . I am thinking a 4 foot square  box. just enough for kitchen doors or smaller. I can then stay working without creating dust on the pieces.

I don't know if it is a good idea or dangerous etc.

anyone got any opinions on this

thanks alan

anyone think this is dangerous

If you are using water borne no.
I think a 4ft box will create a lot of over spray on parts you have just sprayed unless you have good ventilation.
If you leave the box in the same room that you are working in it will collect dust, no matter what you do. It will be difficult to  keep this box clean and dust free.

Shop notes magazine had a fantastic small shop spraybooth. Shop built with lights and a down draft type filter that used a blower motor and a four inch exhaust hose. If you only use it for water based finishes it would be perfect.
