I got the new Skillers vest which I see is not exactly as nice as the one Tom has, but the holster pockets in front and back are great for installs. I was just using it to build a multi tiered 12 x 12 octagonal deck entry. I had Simpson Strong Tie screws in one and 2 1/2 " deck screws in the other. I had a few joist hangers in back holsters and combined with c12 and pirate trouser knee pads I made quick work of the framing. Skillers is the Festool of work wear for those who demand more. I called them about sizing and the next day they sent a rep down from Boston to connecticut and gave me an account. I was so impressed that I paid half for my two employees and we now have most of their catalog. About a year later I feel that transaction has worked in my favor. I have a cheap battery operated pencil sharpener in one bag that works well. Any of the pants or shorts with holster pockets are awesome and you can tuck them in to the regular pocket quite easily and comfortably.
Tom, have you checked out a neoprene back brace under tool tool belt or vest. The vest belt clinches around it and keeps you from over working your lower back. I had a career ending injury playing college lacrosse at Radford University about a decade ago and am usually good for 2 or 3 near hospitilization injuries a year at Killington VT. Without the back brace I would be forced to get a real job.
