Snickers/Skillers 4294 Tool Vest

I got the new Skillers vest which I see is not exactly as nice as the one Tom has, but the holster pockets in front and back are great for installs.  I was just using it to build a multi tiered 12 x 12 octagonal deck entry.  I had Simpson Strong Tie screws in one and 2 1/2 " deck screws in the other.  I had a few joist hangers in back holsters and combined with c12 and pirate trouser knee pads I made quick work of the framing.  Skillers is the Festool of work wear for those who demand more.  I called them about sizing and the next day they sent a rep down from Boston to connecticut and gave me an account.  I was so impressed that I paid half for my two employees and we now have most of their catalog.  About a year later I feel that transaction has worked in my favor.  I have a cheap battery operated pencil sharpener in one bag that works well.  Any of the pants or shorts with holster pockets are awesome and you can tuck them in to the regular pocket quite easily and comfortably.

Tom, have you checked out a neoprene back brace under tool tool belt or vest.  The vest belt clinches around it and keeps you from over working your lower back.  I had a career ending injury playing college lacrosse at Radford University about a decade ago and am usually good for 2 or 3 near hospitilization injuries a year at Killington VT.  Without the back brace I would be forced to get a real job.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for showing us this model.  I just got one of the Bakladder models at the JLC show last month, but I like the way that your Snickers model is short and works with the modular pouch system.  I tried calling Snickers and the salesperson, that I got, checked with someone and then told me that Skillers would not be getting any new models this year - maybe in 2009.  Are you able to email your contact in Skillers to see if he might be able to help out some of your FOG friends?  Could you pass along the name of anyone that you think might be able to get me a 4294?  Are you wearing a med or large - and would you mind mentioning your height and weight?

Thanks,
Roland

I just want to know if you ever got that radiator plumb.

He's a multi talented guy ;) HVAC work, runway model, carpenter. Kind of like Harrison Ford.

PS: Skillers said no vest for me also. Tom must have a relative working there ;D
