have you ordered or going to pick one up?

I am just about convinced that I am going to buy one on the 1st, I think cashflow will be their and I am looking forward to having one.  how about you?

I just can't decide should I set it up in my shop on my miter built in stand, or carry it to jobs.

I ordered mine from some guy named Timmy, said he would deliver it personally. I won't hold my breath. I'm anxious to get one finally.

Nope-
Don't like the handle (requires excessive wrist pronation) and I do not like the difficulty of setting a near 45 or near 22.5 degree cut.

I think the saw has postive stops for these if I recall, but you can also dial in degrees to a 1/2 degree and be right on all the time. and that is a bonus for doing top of the line trim jobs with stairway angles, etc.

I will let someone chime in who may have a definate answer on the stops

Hey Cincy and welcome.

Have you had the opportunity to use the saw yet?

I have and yes the handle can be uncomfortable at first.

For about 5 minutes.

I am not so sure as to the term "pronation" as this usually refers to podiatry problems,

and if you are using your feet, yes I can see a issue.

When you mention near 45, I assume you are  saying you have a issue at say 44.5,

for when you have those pesky 89 degree corners?

I happened to be at John Lucas shop, www.woodshopdemos.com  where John, Elena,

(a first time miter saw user) and myself built a adjustable wall to make inside corners

from 85 to 95 degrees. Not once did I personally have difficulty in accomplishing this

in a manner that would slow down the influx of moolah to my pocket.

Nor did Elena, who went into this with no preconceived notions.

I will say in defense of your statement that the Kapex is really tight out of the box,

this may cause some frustration at the 44.5 mark for the first hour or so, but, as both the

saw and I became accustomed to one another over the span of a afternoon, these initial

complaints were quickly resolved.

What Per said...AND I have never seen such tight crown molding corners as Per and Elena came up with each time we reset the corner angle.  It really made no difference how much the corner was out of square. And no trial and error or 2nd cuts. Each cut a perfect cut. That is the Kapex and the Kapex angle indicator...a cool tool.

It's like Per said the Kapex is a bit stiff out of the box. I've had my Kapex for about a month now, I can set it to a quarter of a degree out of any detent easily. I use the palm of my hand with light tap to get the setting just right.

BTW, expect to see my Kapex review soon, end of this week or early next. My review may be the most in depth review you have ever read on any tool. The PDF is 44 pages, almost 7,000 words and over 70 pictures.

Holy mollie!

By the time I finish reading it I might be able to afford the actual saw  ;)
