So...How did Santa treat you this year?

Santa was VERY good to me! Check my signature line...

Sigh .... got a broken collarbone from Santa this year.... was riding the bike with a decent speed, and the wheel slipped on a wooden bridge, launching me forward with my shoulder to the ground. Next thing I know I'm surrounded with people, got a blanket and some coffee while they called me an ambulance. It comes rushing in with full sirens together with the police. For a moment I felt like I was really important, all this fuzz just for me. Then I got rushed off to the hospital where they checked me. Later I was released on my own behalf. Most of the time they don't do anything about the collarbone because it will heal by itself. But with me it turns out the two halfs are severely dislocated and have to be mended with a metal plate, so now I'm awaiting surgery somewhere next week. No Festooling for me for a while. [sad]

Bad lack Alex. Drop me a line with the doctor's details, I'll see if I can convince him to repair it with a domino [big grin]

Broken collar bones aren't much fun.

Alex, sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you are better soon.

Cliff

Alex that sucks.  I broke my collar bone twice when I was teenager, once on my bike and once ice skating.  The doctor told me if I broke again I would need surgery, never broke it after that.  Get well soon your tools will be waiting for you.

That's a bugger Alex there was a documentary on chanel 4 tonight Guy Williams addicted to speed and he was going for the world record on a push bike he broke it with a speed of 113mph. That's a case of take your brains out and say I won't be needing that. Hope you're back in action soon

Thanks for the kind words guys, appreciate it.

I'm just glad I didn't land on my head, which could have made it a lot worse. Just heard that Michael Schumacher did land on his head in a skiing accident and is fighting for his life right now.

I don't know you, Alex. but I wouldn't wish that injury on anyone. Good luck with the surgery and best wishes for a pain-free recovery!

Good luck Alex, hope you recover soon.

Santa totally ignored me this year so I took matters into my own hands and ordered a few things from Lee Valley. Clamps, veneer saw, Starrett combination square.

Just a regular 12" combination square set. I've been struggling without one for years and finally bit the bullet as I often need an accurate way to mark mitres. I think it's an imperial-only ruler, but I rarely measure anything anyway so I don't mind!

I feel a little bad about going over board this year for Christmas. It wasn't anything compared to Franks equipment, but I had a good Christmas. Unfortunately we do not have children yet, hopefully that will be different next year and I can spoil my kids. Below is a picture indicating how good I was this year  [laughing]  I spoiled my wife as well  [doh]

You might as well spoil yourself now because once you have children they will be the focus.
