So what are people doing right now?

[member=18240]Max Fracas[/member] - Over the last 37 years my wife and I have lived in four homes which means I have had four workshops. We have been in this house for ten years now and when we moved here I did something that most would consider extravagant and I understand that not everyone could afford to do it. My garage here was already finished with Sheetrock on walls and ceiling and is reasonably insulated (although not completely) so I had a central air conditioning unit installed. It is a three ton unit (smallest available) and it even had a small electric heat strip in it (which I need at least four or five days per year😊). It is a pretty high efficiency unit and at 3 tons is oversized for the 500 sq. ft. so the electricity usage has been very reasonable. It has a programmable thermostat and I usually keep it around 76 or 77 in there (around here that is a very comfortable shop). The difference it has made to the condition of my tools is amazing not to mention how many more hours I am capable of working out there based on the comfort. As you know it is not uncommon for us to have 100-150 days per year of ninety degree plus days and our humidity is often off the charts so it makes such a huge difference having it here. I know it sounds crazy extravagant but man I love having it.

Still pumping and sweeping water to the drain!  Starting to get old.

It’s 12:45 CST and the rain has finally diminished. Time for a quick cocktail and some music. Cranked up the heater on the patio, thinking about what’s for dinner tomorrow, the bathroom shelf I’m making from an aluminum extrusion with LED edge lighting and decided to que up some Blondie. I forgot how good she really is. I may prefer Prince, Jimi or Eric Clapton but darn, she is talented.

Here’s a teaser on what the glass shelf will look like. This glass is 1/2” thick. The actual shelf will be either 1/4” or 5/16” or 8mm. Gotta check around tomorrow and find out what’s available.

Saw Blondie two weeks ago. One of my first favorites. And one of the first records I bought.

That right there is a genuine 45rpm!  [big grin]
