So, what are the issues with the Kapex?

Why would you want to do that?
Asking as the bottom thingy will not move on miters...

Yep a sub fence is great. Cannot always be used, but use when I can on all saws. The blade coming to a complete stop, man I got work to do...  Other issues, no detente overide( end of the world, no but on a saw that costs 3 times others that have it?) Non flat bed come on maybe most of the time it doesn’t matter but really. Leaky arbor ? Come on  pick better grease use better seals whatever. The blade guard catches up on compound bevel cuts and is so close to the blade which is elegant not practical. The safety switch is too far from the trigger, just look how much closer they are on the ks60. And the motor thingy.
That being said it’s accurate, quiet, great bevel scale, light, good capacity, and excellent dust collection.  But for 2 to 3 times the cost of the competition these issues should be addressed and fixed. Just saying. The makita ls1019l has plenty of faults but it’s $500. Often comes with a free stand. The ridgid 10” is $350. The dewalt is always on sale. I hate the race to the bottom that’s why the kapex’s short Comings bother me.

This is one example, and there are some other jigs that are built for the compound miter saws. I have one that allows you to cut outside the 60* limit.

So was the black smoke in the background at the end of the video coming from a Kapex on the other side of the room?

Good eye!

My guess would be a CTxx...that shared the same circuit as his miter saw.

My issues, lack of detents for crown. Both 38 and 45 spring angle would be nice. I can set by eye as the Kapex has easy to read scales but on the job where time=money I don’t want to. And I find greater precision cutting my crown flat, plus some of the crown I deal with won’t fit in the small cutting capacity of the Kapex (that’s my other main issue with the saw, lost capacity when I sidegraded from my 12” Bosch).

Also, blades are too expensive compared to what else is on the market.
