A couple weeks ago I saw a topic about bluetooth hearing protection, and It got me thinking. I don't go into my "shop" ( term used loosely, like putting your pants on a 1 year old, yeah that loose) without some tunes..
Currently,

Edith Piaf (can't understand a lick of what she's saying but music is it's own language)
Amy Winehouse (darn she was soulful)
Fabolous (soul tape 2 mixtape)
Raulin Rodriguez (what can I say, I'm Dominican, IT'S IN MY BLOOD!)

So what do you guys/gals press play on?

Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrast, Bobby Womack, Ronnie Lawes, Stevie Wonder, Kodo. Loads of others or the local radio

Sports talk radio and baseball.
Everyone hates it though.
Baseball was made for radio.

Never head anything from teddy, Ronnie, kodo or sigur, I'll have to lend an ear to them one day, yeah I do agree baseball is one of the only sports I could think of that u can visualize almost perfectly what's happening just by listening to the commentator over the radio.

Sounds really cool my type of music

But usually listen to the wife saying" how long you going to be up there "

I have an older iPod that has several different playlists.  Mix from rock to country.

Sirius XM Satellite Radio, the following stations with no real news and no BS commercials. I recently had the offer to get a lifetime subscription for $550.00 and took it.

BB Kings Bluesville
Classic Vinyl
Classic Rewind
Spectrum

I have a Logitech squeezebox internet radio in the shop.  I listen to old time radio detective shows Phillip Marlowe, the shadow, Johnny Dollar, Sherlock Holmes, etc.  [smile]

I listen to NPR and on Saturdays we get the Mick Martin Blues Party from 1 - 5 [cool]  Other times I just use my iPad and blue tooth blues to a Bose speaker in my shop.

Jack

I listen to bbc radio 6. You guys could probably get it online.

If I plug my iphone in I've got a mixture but Biffy Clyro are at the top of my playlist.
Or classic Rock sabbath zeppelin and the like.

Alt-j
Arctic Monkeys
...
...
ZZ Top

And everything in between

Milwaukee Site Radio - country on the radio

Tastes range from 5 finger death punch - godsmack - George Straight - pearl jam - brooks and Dunn - Creedence -

Most of the time it's Internet radio streamed from the shop computer.  Sometimes I stream Ottmar Liebert or Johnny Cash from the computer's music drive.  Sometimes I have classical from a local PBS station.  Saturday mornings it's Car Talk with Click and Clack until I get laughing so hard I can't work and my dog is looking at me like he thinks he needs to take me for a walk.

Podcasts from the Cato Institute, Mises, etc.  Sometimes music, country to southern rock

I have - surprise - eclectic tastes. I usually stream Pandora from my iPhone through an Airport Express in the shop. I usually don't hear the phone ring over the machines running, but the music fades down and I notice that.

Lately I have been listening to Barbershop Quartets. Love the simplicity, tight chords, and I can sing along since only the animals are there and they don't tell....or howl.

[wink]

From very easy listening to goth metal, and everything in-between. Just tell me a great story.

I have XM Satellite radio, so I listen to a baseball game if there is one on.  If not, it is classic jazz or blues.
