So what do you listen to when your in the shop?

Funny cop, good luck getting back your items ...

Not much chance of that.

Fortunately, the thumb drive was the most valuable thing they took. I never leave anything of real value in my car.

Thieves these days have electronic boxes that can turn off car alarms and unlock doors. The upside is that they don't do any damage getting in.

The moral of the story, never leave anything in your car that you don't want to lose.

I listen to an eclectic mix from the past 500+ yrs. ...Renaissance to Modern classical, jazz, fusion/progressive rock, bluegrass, blues/rock/rockabilly, ethnic,.... Being a guitarist, I like good players of plucked string instruments.

If you want to catch typical local Oz stuff, try TripleJ and DoubleJ

... particularly good for you wow if you like to journey off the beaten music path ... though you're probably listening to Gregorian chants at the moment [wink]
I actually have Gregorian (and Byzantine) chants on my playlists.  :o

Here's a video of some very fast fingered piano playing. It features Eeco Rijken Rapp and Henri Herbert jamming in a small café during the U.K. Boogie Woogie Festival (a few years ago). It was unrehearsed, and they had never played together before.

Henri is the keyboard player for the Jim Jones Revue, a U.K. punk rock band (not my style). He's also a huge fan of boogie woogie.

Eeco and Henri

Henri is also well known for sitting down unannounced at pianos in airports and train stations, and belting out free concerts:

Henri's Boogie

Notice the "ho hum" reaction of the crowd. Apparently it takes a lot to get the Brits to tap their toes!  [big grin]

If anyone likes great toe tapping acoustic guitar, check out this Tommy Emmanuel concert on YouTube:

Tommy is a great musician. I have a lot of his stuff. He's been playing for over fifty years, and I think he's gettting the hang of it.  [smile]

A lot of good recommendations in this thread.  [thumbs up]

Joraft: no problem on a german Autobahn  [wink]

You may be right with the dovetails. To do my first handmade dovetails still lies ahead.

Maybe for those I'll go for my favorite The Civil Wars Concert

Great stuff, never heard of him before...sometimes you just need some boogie woogie!
Tim

It's hard to listen without tapping your toe.

I guess it's not all that popular these days. Someone broke into my car a few nights ago, one of things they took was a thumb drive full of boogie woogie. Cop told me that once they listened to it they might return it.  [big grin]
John, so sorry to hear that you got robbed. It wasn't the Smart Car, was it?

No, Callan, they broke into my Expedition and my wife's Lexus, but didn't really get much. They left my F250 alone, and that had some Festool stuff behind the seat. Won't do that again.

You don't really "break into" a smart car, you just sort of unzip it.  [smile]
