Sofa Table

My sister commissioned me to build a sofa table.  6 months later I finally delivered...

It's made of ash from a friends farm.  The top, legs, and stretchers are joined with dominoes.  I used my TS55 with a Panther Blade to rip and joint the top, worked great!

I stained it with four coats of General Finishes Ebony Gel Stain and finished it with General Finishes water based Satin Poly.  The poly was applied with a cheap compressor driven HVLP gun.  The results were very acceptable but the experience was not! I am now the proud owner of a Fuji Mini-Mite 4 [big grin]

Very nice! I really like the look of this — with the absolute minimum of material used to achieve the goal. (Less is more!)

Nice looking table. I like the base. Would like to see the top. I enjoy working with ash.

If I'm not mistaken the sofa table is a credenza? Nice table! How is the Fuji mini mite 4? Fuji makes a few different models - Q (quiet), mini mite (portable) and various turbine counts as in 3 stage, 4 stage or 5 Stage. The mini mite 4 seems to be the best bang for the buck.

I appreciate the delicate design and minimal material too. Nicely done!

Thank so for the compliment.

I've only just received the Mini-Mite.  So far I've only sprayed water through it....  I can tell you that I had some concern about the sound.  I am happy to report that the sound is far less than my compressor.  There is also far less over-spray!  Hopefully I will shoot some finish through it over the weekend.

Jeff
