3M/Racal Airstream AS-400 PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) – Completely Refurbished and Ready to Go!
A few years ago, I sold my 3M/Racal Airstream PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) when I didn’t think I needed it anymore but soon realized the error of my ways. Originally designed by Racal in the United Kingdom and later acquired by 3M, Airstream is undoubtedly the best system on the market for keeping your lungs clean in dusty environments while also protecting your face and head from flying debris. If you wear glasses like me, there is nothing better for a fog free respirator and eye protection that is actually comfortable to wear.
I was at an auction recently and bought a number of PAPR units from a business that was closing. They were all lightly used and in remarkably good condition. One of the nice features of this system is the availability of replacement parts. The Racal’s and the 3M’s are virtually identical except for the label and the parts are interchangeable.
Even though everything was in good shape, I wanted to make them as pristine as possible so I bought a bunch of new parts from 3M to refurbish them. I’m keeping one for myself and offering the rest for sale here with the hope of at least breaking even.
I refurbished every unit with a new HEPA Filter, Anti-Fog Visor, and Tyvek Face Seal. Most have also had the Temple Seals, Comfort Band, and Pre-Filter replaced unless they were already in excellent condition. They are all in great shape and as close to new as I could get them.
Each unit also includes a charger which is generally sold separately. I have tested every battery to make sure it will take and hold a charge. Additionally, operating instructions are included with every unit.
