Sold my old OF 1010 buying the new 1010 R - Which accessories to go with?

Hi gals’n guys,

Sold my old OF 1010, replacing now with the new R version. Same same, but this time buying a set, a 800mm rail is obvious - debating the router bit box as I have most bits from before. The 4mm slotting bit and the dowel bit (5mm) are the most attractive in this box. Any experiences with those bits in this box? Or should I just get what I want separately?

A LR32 kit is on the horizon too.

Also, there are some nice accessories such as micro adjust fence, micro adjust rail adaptor, angle adaptor for edge routing/trim routing with flat base. I’m interested to hear your creative use of accessories, not only the mentioned, but maybe you have adopted other Festool accessories to go with these?

Must mention that I have an OF 1400 that sits in the CMS OF router insert, and the most used is my Makita 18V trim router with all accessories. This is used for most quick and light work as round-over and so forth.

Just to help me understand, because I'm not working on much sleep right now...

Did you have any accessories for your old OF 1010?  If so, did you sell them with the old unit, are they not compatible with the new unit, or a little of both?

Hi Squall,

No, I did just have the standard accessories that comes with the router, and off course sold with the old one. Thing is, I did use it a few times, and I really like the size and handling (compared to larger units) So I figured soon that I wanted one again when it would come more into play, especially with such as the LR32 system. Dado and rabbeting will also be main applications.
Starting soon doing bespoke floor to ceiling clothing cabinets. That said, I’m not building square carcasses- that way I could just have bought IKEA or other standard “boxes”. But, I’ll do internals so it accepts standard measures for shelves and so on and hole patterns. Outside will be either tongue and groove panel, as the walls, or sheet goods (Ply or MDF) As my house is old, nothing is square, so bespoke it is.  [blink]

Hi, i have yet to fine when a little finer adjustment was not helpful .I have them all they work great.guy
