Solid surface feed and speed

So I have the task of refreshing Corian counters.  I've searched around on this site (and others) and there is much mention of grits and procedure, but I can't find anything on how fast should one run the sander.  Maybe I missed it somewhere, but can anyone who has done this tell me what speed settings I should use and how fast or slow I should be making my passes?  Finish will be matte so it's a little forgiving  [unsure].  Present conditions are the usual knife marks etc. I'm using the RO125 and RO90.  Any help would be much appreciated.

My experience with solid surface is very limited so I better not offer any advice.  However, I can wholeheartedly recommend calling Festool who should be able to put you in touch with Festool trainer Stave Bace that is an expert.

Back in the day I used to fabricate Corian at a small cabinet shop (without dust collection, mind you.)  speed wasn't so much a concern, but following grit progression was.  We used to start with 100, then 150, then 220.  That would get us the matte finish.  You just need to make sure to take a close look at the top between grits to make sure you're not leaving deep swirls (or knife cuts)

Should be a piece of cake with festool sanders, btw.

Enjoy, and I'm sure more knowledgable will chime in...

As Jonhilgen said, and  in my experience the speed is'nt so much of a concern.

Depending on how deep the knife cuts are, I would be inclined to start with a higher paper than 100 grit. You can always go to a lower grit if the deeper cuts dont seem to be polishing out. 150 or even 180 grit would be my choice, then work up from there to either 240 or even 320, depending on how matte a finish you are looking for.

If you start at 100 grit, you may find you are creating a lot more work to get the complete set of counter tops to an acceptable finish.

Check out the PDF file I've attached.  It's origin is Steve Bace at the Solid Surface class.  I've done some "tuning" based on my experience post-class, but it's very minor.  Brice is right; Steve is THE authority when dealing with solid surface material.
