What's the best product for cleaning up a systainer, particularly for the removal of sharpie pen marks? I remember once trying acetone a while back, but that didn't go well.

I typically use Armorall wipes for general cleaning of systainers and tools. I believe that was a tip I picked up from one of Sedge's videos.
Though I've not had sharpie on a systainer or other textured surface, I know dry erase marker typically removes it from other surfaces. Scribble the dry erase over the sharpie mark; the old ink rehydrates and both wipe right off. I'm not sure if it'd wipe off as easily with a textured surface, but for smooth surfaces (white board, leather, etc.) it's worked in the past.

I have used dry erase markers to remove sharpie from systainers. Just gotta cover it and wipe immediately.

Isopropyl should remove sharpie. But it'll depend on the tip size and how long it's been there for the strength required. I'd err on low and move your way up. Your best bet might be the dry erase mechanical mentioned above for the bulk of it and isopropyl for the residual. ABS never reacts well to acetone (we use it to smooth 3d prints).

I recently tried, and have become a fan of Mr. Clean’s Magic Eraser.
I removed my IPad from the case and the back of the IPad looked filthy. Rubbing alcohol removed a little of it. But a damp Magic Eraser wiped it clean with just a few light swipes. No fumes, no solvents, just water on the white sponge.
I would give that a try before using anything other than rubbing alcohol.
I have no idea how long the Eraser lasts. I am still on the first one. Use it while it is wet. I would wash off any loose dirt with Dawn dish soap first and then remove the stubborn stuff with the eraser. I am still learning its use.
It does wonders to stainless steel coffee mugs. The interior now shines like a mirror.

I have used the European/Dutch equivalent of Barkeeper’s Friend (hope that name is correct) to clean very dirty and discoloured Systainers. (It is a scouring powder based on chalk, I think).

I did not know how the Magic Eraser worked until now as I just looked it up. It too is based on the abrasive qualities of the sponge.

Barkeeper's Friend contains oxalic acid, which is fantastic at removing rust stains. When I lost my tub of Naval Jelly, I used some BKF for a rust stain on my tablesaw deck. Worked very well (Navel Jelly is phosphoric acid)
