Some Festool routers videos

Hello,

in the movie "Balkenverbindung" he uses a beam connector, has anybody an idea of a brand that makes this? Preferably a firm that's available in Belgium/Europe?

Hi Mettes,
the producer is probably german company SIMPSON STRONG-TIE GmbH. They have branch in France or Denmark. They also sell router patterns for these types of connectors (they make more types).

Hm, the two suggestions for the maker of the spline so far (Simpson StrongTie and Knapp) seem very far from the mark.

Simpson specializes in stamped metal connectors (it seems exclusively) while Knapp seem to
have diecast connectors.

The one shown looks like it has been machined from a solid steel billet.

Maybe a letter to the website is in order? I can do it, but only in English...

still cannot believe that the connector will be strong enough for such a large beam....has anyone seen them or used them?

This one I found at the German Simpson-StrongTie site, not the same but close.
Can't find anything of this on the American site.

They have testresults for this connector so it is strong enough.

Josef,
I like the "arch segment" film, I never knew about the circle routing insert for the MFS system. Oh, and the router table hold down system looks wonderful.

If you have Google Translate on your toolbar it helps with navigation (and you get some hilarious translations at no extra charge ;D).

it seems that the bottom of the beam needs something to tie into. i like the top, but under load from the top of the beam would cause the bottom to open up...or am i missing something?
