Sean asked for some more details on the soon-to-be-released update of the ETS 150 sander, so I thought it would be useful to post a few of the other cool Festool things I've recently found on the Internet. You've already seen the CT "wings", but maybe not some of the others...  [wink]

Given the "sleeved" hose, and the Systainer "drawer" (can anyone say homemade Sysport?) I'd say someone in Festool R&D hangs out on the FOG maybe...  [big grin]

Google translated from German, so excuse any obvious errors.

Cool.  I see two or three items I want.  Is that one sander or two?  Switchable 3mm to 5MM?  Never mind.  I see the 5 on top of the sander.

The drawer, if not too expensive, will be perfect for the MFT cart I am building.

That new ETS is definitely on my list!!! [drooling]

As for the rest:

The sleeved hose doesn't float my boat at the moment. It looks heavy, maybe I'll change my mind when I see it;

CT wings have already been discussed, and I'll be getting one when they come out;

New syslite - I don't have a syslite, so I don't know the specs. What's different with this one?

Systainer tray - could be VERY popular if it's priced correctly; if it's silly money, then forget it. Looks like it latches closed, so could be used in vehicles too.

It's great to see Festool are investing in new accessories as well as tools!

Yes the SYS tray looks very interesting .it will depend on cost

Even your average hobbyist will want 5-10 to build a SYS port for their tools

I'm planning one at the moment and would save me loads of work and look very professional to buy them

Not sure  ???

I wouldn't hold your breath. The metal drawers for the SYS PORT retail at about GBP £115 (USD $130) so I wouldn't expect these to be dramatically different. Let's hope we're presently surprised come the "Autumn" ("Fall") when all these new bits are supposed to be launched. They do look nice...  [smile]

The drawers look like something I'd buy. I wanted to buy the ready made units, but they were too heavy to get into my shop. If these drawers are available, I can build a custom storage system. Great idea.

I don't see the advantage of the new sander over the existing units. Ditto the light.

The only difference between old/new syslite that I can see is:

Old has (6) 3 watt LEDs

New has (12) 1.5 watt LEDs

Oooohhh!!!

A new sander was the next tool on my list. But I'm def' waiting to see what that new ETS costs.  I hope it's the same as the old ETS.  The 'Mirka Deros' sander keeps nudging me but I would rather a Festool just to keep the power cords the same as everything else.

CT wings look like a no brainer too!!

Not getting excited yet as it will be a long time until we see any of these in the USA

I seem to remember a previous discussion of a combined vacuum and power cord set. Someone stated that it would not meet  UL standards.

Given the price Festool charges for their rolling seat, I would not get excited yet about the drawer system.

To me, it looks more like a IKEA flatpack version of the the SYS PORT. Maybe this could be lower cost since shipping may be more manageable (less shipping damage)?

  Miele already has a corded Vacuum hose for their convertible vacs . One end plugs into the vac itself, and the head end of the hose that meets the attachments has a female socket for the power cords of a floor brush. Mine's from 1999, so I have to think that Festool getting a UL rating for their tools and vacs with this set-up should be easy other than Wet Vac usage?  [unsure]

  It looks to me like that new hose sleeve could be used with any hose cord combo. The hose and cord still being the regular separate  components. The Plug-It Hose is a hose that actually has the power cord running through the inside of the hose. Which is likely the reason we can't buy it in NA.

Longer run times too +20 high /  +50 low.  And a universal ball head with magnet..........  type of mount in addition to the 1/4" tripod mount.

Thanks for posting.
Those new sanders really interesting to me, as been looking at altering my line-up of sanders for a while - Mirka sanders never quite turned me on though.  Wonder if brushless Rotex sanders one day - or, even others??
Like look of new Syslite; guess the 12 bulbs reduces the very slight 'striations,' with more even spread of light - never caused me a problem though.  Disappointed that not three light levels; but not a big deal.
Richard.
