The next NJ woodworking show is coming up in a couple weeks - February 19-21, 2016 Friday 12-6; Saturday 10-6; Sunday 10-3.

Anyone attending, and if so, any interest in arranging a meet up? I am leaning towards Sunday in case there are any post-show deals to be had where I can haul something that I don't really need back home with me.

Rich. I will be there for sure would enjoy a face to face and handshake
Sunday is the big tool give away day and maybe some better pricing on that

I would love a deal on some floor models on Sunday, but what I want won't fit in my car!  Still, the lure of a deal bring me to Sunday!  :)

Well, I'll be...  I forgot all about this show.  It's already in my calendar though.

I need to decide what day to attend.  It's the same weekend as the Endurance Sports EXPO in Oaks, Pa.  So, each show gets me for one day.  Which one has yet to be determined.

A couple a years ago I made out, kinda, with a Sawstop Industrial model.  Last year I made out with some discounts on a few Woodpecker OTT's.  A couple were even remainders.

I am usually at this one, but I normally go Friday as they open. Have yet to go in the weekend. Not sure what I'll be looking for this year.

Sal,

I’m the other Rich from NJ. I was planning on going on Friday, but it would be good to see you again, so I guess I’ll change my plans to Sunday. I thought I would have seen you up at “The Nut” again this past summer, but they didn’t have anything going on (or at least not that I heard of).

What would you prefer, a Brunello or a Cabernet?? Or, maybe I should just through a mixed case in my trunk and spread the joy. lol

It will also be nice to meet the other Richard (The 80/20 Genius).

As Festool Connect is moving off the east coast this year, I guess this show will be the next best thing.

Rich.  That will be awesome my planning now is all three days so if Friday still works for you that will be fine. Your choice of wine is good with me

Things at the Nut changed as to demo's we will talk when I see you for sure

Sal

About that time. I guess I am heading up on Sunday, [member=9170]Sal LiVecchi[/member] and anyone else going to be there?

HA! Just noticed this, only time I am ever called a "genius" is when the term is used as in "Boy, what a genius he is..."  [doh]

[member=28232]Richard A.[/member] - will you be up there Sunday?

Richard RMW.  I plan on being there Saturday and Sunday in an effort to try to scoop up last day deals

I stopped by the show today.

I was very impressed by the Vac Sys. I really do not need one, but I have some yearnings for one. If I was doing a lot of Dominos on moderate sized pieces, I could see real value in time savings in clamping and unclasping the workpiece.

A Bosch guy said the Reaxx may be coming out April ish. He said that Bosch had made some changes in components that did not work well and need to be redone. Hmm, where have we heard that before.

I did not see a Grex booth so no questions about the cordless 23 g pinner.

I also did not see an Apollo spray booth. Overall, the show seemed a bit smaller.

Richard,

As for the “The 80/20 Genius” remark, I have been fabricating stuff out of both steel and aluminum KINDORF for the last 45’ish years (yah, I’m old. lol) and when I see what you do with 80/20, it always amazes me. You have such great ideas. I have a 80/20 distributor not more than 35 min from my shop but haven’t made it over there yet to take a look-see.

I will be down at the show all day Sunday. I’ll PM you my contact info.

- Rich

P.S.: What would you prefer, a Brunello or a Cabernet?

Rich - got your PM, will look you up. Thanks for the kind words.

Wines are a mystery to me, really enjoy "good" ones but I could not tell you what makes them good. Looking forward to meeting you.

Awesome to finally meet Sal, Rich A, Daniel & Co. from Tool Town & the Wenner Bros. (Ryan & Kyle) from Seneca.

The show however was somewhat disappointing. Seemed like about 1/2 was turning clubs/demos or related to turning, another 1/4 was Peachtree and the rest mixed.  All the major brands were represented and there were a few vendors with truly hard-to-find or interesting stuff, but overall my reactions was "Meh". In hindsight, excepting meeting some nice folks, I would not invest 4 hours on the Parkway and a 60 degree sunny February day into the show. Sitting on my rear deck early in the AM I darned near called in sick anyway...

The turning stuff seems to be a trend, I keep wondering if it is due to the boomers retiring and getting into making bowls & pens out of boredom?

Seneca had a nice booth. Having purchased my original domiplate from Ron back when they were mill finish AL I have watched the evolution of the company and it is just really cool to see how they have grown. Ryan told us he just recently leased some warehouse to expand the company and is traveling and hitting shows constantly, all great stuff and great products also.
