Although there is a good thread on making your own MFT top, many of us struggle with doing that given the lack of time or technique, and can't seem to find someone locally with a CNC that would be willing to work with MDF.

For those in western MA or the surrounding area, I finally found someone with a CNC who will make replacement tops.

Anyone in your area that you'd like to spread the word on? Web sites that you know of that are good for searching? Until now, sources within a few hours drive were either big job production, or metal only.

Also check local Sign Shops, known ones that
have been around long enough. Better call them
first then take a trip to find out they dont have.

Jimmy the Brush most likely wont have one, but then again....  [eek]

I have a good source in NJ (Andrew Grossman Upholstery in Asbury Park) who currently has the MFT slab in his CNC files. Haven't done a replacement MFT top yet - but I am sure he would. You'd probably need to contact me to get to him to do it...

Is there actually a savings, vs buying one from Ebay? I guess the better question is how much are you paying? (If that is allowed on this site.)

Unless the quality is equal to the Festool top and the price is significally less, I don't understand the allure of buying a CNC top.

I can understand the challenge of making one, especially if I needed an odd size top.

Cheese ....  Great link for the CNC shops !!

If it's just to replace an MFT, I'd think Festool would be as cheap as anyone. They currently charge $130 for a top.

However, I'm assuming you need a custom sized table and this is the best resource I've found. Just plug in your Zip code and choose the fabrication method, this is a world wide data base.

I'm in Atlanta, GA and have my tops made at work. We have a 20' long CNC that is the work horse of our company. I can basically have an MFT/3 tops cut for the cost of MDF.  I had a 3'-6"x6'-6" MFT style top cut to use as my work table and that cost me $30.

I don't know the exactly dimensions of the festool MFT top but will measure mine once I get home (just ordered mine and came in today). That will give me a better idea of how many tops I can get out of a sheet of MDF. Even if it's just 1 top per sheet, that's still only $30 compared to $130
