Let us not forget the Springbok rugby team. Having won the Rugby World Cup in 2007 (we beat England, he, he) we then defeated the British Lions on their tour to South Africa a couple of months ago and to top it all, we won the Tri-Nations rugby last week winning five of our six games against the Wallabies (Australia) and the All Blacks (New Zealand). Our team is also ranked #1 in the world.

It has to be said though that in international sport there is nothing in the world that compares with the New Zealand rugby team's war dance called the Haka. If you want to know what it is, look for it on the internet. It is unique.

I don't know if this post is still going but I want to keep it going for all the South Africans out there because this is one aspect of SA that I am very proud of, our team!

Wow after watching the super 14 final last night I have to say it is dissapointing that the Stormers lost but hey they came closer than I thought. I would have to blame it on match nerves, in the first half we looked like a deer in the headlights and combine that with a defensive line from the Bulls that I have never seen before and we were always going to lose.

I have to say with the combination of Andries Bekker and Victor Matfield in our SA team we are going to DANGEROUS this year! Watch out Tri-nations.

In terms of the Haka: I have to agree it is awesome but I prefered their older one where they jumped. Also what made me laugh and be proud was the one time when we played NZ and they were doing the Haka and all of a sudden some zulu's came running out in their traditional outfits and they started doing their war dance. That was cool.

Hello Chris, Just over a year to go before the world Cup. I wonder if I'll ever get over the food poisening the nite before the NZ - South Africa Final  [scared]  [scared] and of course Louie Late (don't know spelling) presenting the refs with gold watches after the final [eek] [eek] [eek]
My predictions for next year.
1 NZ
2 South Africa
3 Australia
4 France
5 England

You really think NZ will beat us? I have to say I have more faith in our team than that but I guess we will see what happens when the Tri-nations get here.

My prediction:
1 South Africa
2 New Zealand
3 Australia
4 England
5 France

I can't I know how strong the English or French sides are since I haven't seen either of them play for a long time but on my gut feeling I would say England just ahead of them.

Wow man you got food poisening the night before?!! OUCH! I know the most recent world cup we had in England was amazing after we won. Went running around the streets with random other drunk people, cars hooting everyone yelling "Bokka!" :)

I never got food poisening but half the All Black team did from the hotel they were staying at.
Oh well time to make amends [laughing] [laughing]

Nope, I'm a Kiwi living in Kamloops, BC, Canada. Played rugby for many years though. Played rugby against Grant fox when I was young. Even played Rugby with Buck Shelford while I was in the Navy in the 80's.
All before they became Internationals. Can Even remember the Last South African rugby tour to NZ in the Apartheid era before politics go involved.
thx
