The nice thing about GRK is that they offer the RSS product line in coated and also 305 & 316 stainless versions if you need the extra protection from outside elements.

I used some of the 5 inch GRK structural screw and was really surprised at how easy they went into the wood (3 2x12s glued together). Sort of pulled themselves in.
They are nice.... [thumbs up] [thumbs up] i started switching over to Torx type screws in the past 2 years , a bit late to the party since I had used Square Drive screws for so long previously, but it's been fun to see and buy what's out there.
I've now got GRK screws in multiple types and sizes. The Small Trim head screws are surprisingly strong for their thin diameter. I'm careful with them due to that, but I haven't snapped one off yet while driving it in, so that's a plus.
The TimberLok structural screws are also nice. I've repaired fences with them at work and repaired a damaged gate on our property that the construction crew working on a house next door had really screwed up with scaffolding laying on the top of the gate assembly[ long story on that last one....
