Hi everyone!

In Europe the DTS and RTS sanders are available without the speed-control at a slightly lower price then the EQ-version and it would be interesting to get to know if anyone got one and if so, do you miss having the speed-control? For you who got the EQ version how often do you actually use the speed-control? I thought starting a poll would be a fun way to find out.

I would miss the speed control as I feel that for both of these sanders, it's the primary way to work with them for different applications. Esp. the RTS, with its smaller pad but same drive assembly as the DTS.  Just how I feel about it however.. [big grin]

I almost never use the speed control. On any of my sanders. I find it a pretty useless feature. The more power a sander has and the faster it moves, the better. Your surface becomes smoother.

On an older DTS I had the speed dial would move on it's own under the influence of the sander's vibrations. Very irritating. As far as I'm concerned this technological development could have been left out for sanders.

I am fairly new to the DTS, but using it regularly for the last few weeks. I have used the speed control EVERY time I use it. It so wonderful at getting in a wide variety of spots, the speed control really becomes more useful since the how aggressive you need to be in a corner for example isn't as a wide open area.

I might not have gone for this sander without it.
