The splinterguard on my 1900 rail is coming off.  I've never used the rail of even trimmed the splinterguard.  Is this something Festool will replace (the splinterguard of course).  I bought the rail last summer from a well known internet seller that frequents this forum.  I've sent him two emails with the question, but he must be too busy to respond.  Therefore, I ask the group.

I would suggest that you call the service department on Monday and talk to them (888 337-8600).  They will be able to help you.  I speak from experience.

I just bought a 5m roll of splinter guard removed the old one cleaned the area peeled the backing off fitted the new slinter guard rubbed it with my thumb to ensure good contact. picked up the rail off the bench and the splinter guard fell off..... lol.. landed on the floor the sawdust on the floor stuck to it ok though..
wierd or what?

I had the same problem... no big deal.  Removed the double-sided tape from the affected area and replaced it with carpet tape.

funny i just looked at mine and today and its doing the same thing, lots of saw dust stuck to it...i just lold no biggy

Didn't have this problem with the old black rubber edge, the newer 'clear' ones seem to be problematic.

Usually hang the new strips straight up for a while to relax the coiling.

Cleaned the track, used some 1/2" Fastcap speed tape in addition to the sticky already on the splinter guard to mount, no problems.

Carpet tape should work as well.

Replaced mine with some of the Makita (black) splinter guard material and it has worked very well.

Happens all the time, not unusual. I buy the replacement for the 5000mm rail ad use it on my 1080 ad 1400 rails the I need to, so far my 3000 and 1900 haven't needed it. but I got it if I need it.
